The word business usually conjures up the image of work…. not necessarily life. But I recently come across the following quote:
“The business of life is the acquisition of memories. In the end that’s all there is.”
The individual choices that we all make in our lives are personal and significant. How we choose to live our lives, including how we make a living and who we choose to do it with is the“business of life”. And making memories is really what we all value in life. Why else would people post all those photos on Facebook, Instagram, etc.
We work hard to have the freedom to choose how to enjoy our down time from work – whether it is a hobby or passion and with whom we choose to share these experiences. Having the ability to acquire these
memories throughout one’s lifetime is crucial to living life to the fullest.
That’s where the planning comes in. Having a plan will allow you to continue to live your life to the fullest throughout all of your life including your retirement.
Planning for the future and the freedom to have these experiences while you are retired is attainable. And making memories in retirement is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
So keep on planning. The “business of life” requires it. And let the memory making continue.
