Years ago, financial columnist Jason Zweig proposed what he called the Benjamin Graham Financial Network (BGFN). The network would be a counterpoint to the seething red graphics used on TV, the relentless focus on weekly fluctuations and the howling commentary so typical of financial television. It would go something like this:
