Wedding planning can be exhilarating and exhausting but definitely enjoyable. Dan and I had the hard task of attending a cake tasting with the baker on what kind of cake to serve at our daughter’s wedding.
Times have surely changed as I have never been to a cake tasting before as our wedding had the traditional cake that was served by the catering hall. Who knew that there were so many choices?
The table was set with a plate of five different cake choices – vanilla, chocolate, almond, apple cake and carrot cake. In the middle of the table was a platter filled with different fillings – white chocolate cream cheese, vanilla bean cream, raspberry, caramel, chocolate mousse and on and on. The thought was to pair them according to your own wishes and see how the flavors tasted together.
Now I have to admit, I am very fond of cake and the mixing and tasting was quite delicious and fun. But the choices can be quite overwhelming. Making the choices of what to serve your guests whom have all different palates is a major task. I am fully aware that there are not many people who love chocolate as much as I do so pairing a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling might not be the best choice.
There are times that you must rely on the expert and receive a little guidance. Having made numerous wedding cakes with an array of flavor combinations, an expert advice is advisable. Building a four tier wedding cake is not an easy task and it is best left to the professionals.
Quite like building an investment portfolio which is geared to your individual needs and goals should be left to a professional. The choices and combinations are quite overwhelming. You need to have the portfolio align with your personal risk level and the determine the investment returns that are required for you to be able to achieve your goals in the time required.
At times when there are many choices and factors to consider, hiring an expert to assist you is beneficial. And building the correct portfolio is far more important than a wedding cake in terms of your future goals. So hire an advisor who can cater your portfolio specifically to your life.
I’m sure that the cake will be delicious as I can attest to after the cake tasting, regardless if it isn’t chocolate.
