Do you ever wish you can go back in time? Not to change the way things turned out or make different choices, but to experience the wonderful memories that you have of a time and a place.
This Thanksgiving we are doing just that. For a number of years we celebrated Thanksgiving at our vacation home in Woodloch Springs, PA. The car would be carefully packed with all of the necessary ingredients for a perfect meal. We would head up to Pennsylvania on Wednesday morning, and settle in for a few family days of fun. I would bake an apple pie on Wednesday that had to be enjoyed immediately and Thanksgiving morning would be the big day of preparing the big meal and watching football! Dan even got to golf on a few of the warm weathered November days.
After selling the house a few years ago, Thanksgiving has been celebrated at our home in New Jersey. But this year we decided to rent a home at Woodloch Springs and re-create the Thanksgiving of years past. We are looking forward to spending time with the girls, heading into town for a movie and attending events at Woodloch Pines. Although it will be different, the memories of all of the wonderful years will be reminisced and new memories will be made.
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all those things that you are thankful for:
I am thankful for the time to celebrate family and spending it in Woodloch Springs.
I am thankful for the beautiful colors of the season and the crisp air.
I am thankful for the health of my friends and family and for the support that we show each other.
I am thankful for the memories of the past and the excitement for the future.
I am thankful for the respect we show each other.
I am thankful for a good family movie and popcorn!
And last but not least, I am thankful for apple pie ( a la mode of course!).
Enjoy the day with your family and Happy Thanksgiving!
