Focus on What Matters

I am a bit of a control freak. I do not like to admit it, but I do not like the feeling of not being in control. I can hide this character flaw at times, though I know that those who know me best are fully award of my compulsion to control my environment and those in my environment. That is a nice way of me trying to justify how difficult it may be to live with me.

I am a work in progress as I try to navigate the understanding that there are many things that I do not have control over.  This can be a very difficult lesson to learn.  Life can be uncertain and scary at times, which can lead to worrying about things that I really do not have any control over.

But some of those things that matter the most are things that I can control. So, that will be my focus. Rather than wasting time worrying all the time, I will focus on gaining confidence in taking control of the most important aspects of my life and the decisions that I can make to ensure that my goals are met.

What matters the most to you?  And are you focusing on the things you can control?
