How did 40 years go by so quickly?
It was 40 years ago that the band Fleetwood Mac released the album (yes – album) entitled – Rumours. The album was released in 1977. There were 11 songs on the album, but I recently listened to one song with a different prospective than I did as a 14-year-old.
The song is “Don’t Stop” and was released as a single in April 1977.

Keyboardist and singer Christine McVie wrote the song in the aftermath of her divorce from husband and band member John McVie. McVie wrote about getting to a place where the relationship of her past was mostly a thing of a different time and place.
The song also serves as a bit of a pep talk to move forward, as the refrain “don’t stop thinking about tomorrow” demonstrates.
We believe that this advice applies to many people today as well. Our mission is to help people do just that – move forward to a better future, and it starts with thinking about your better future.
Here are some of the lyrics to “Don’t Stop”:
Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow
Don’t stop, it’ll soon be here
It’ll be better than before
Yesterday’s gone, yesterday’s gone
Why not think about times to come?
And not about things that you’ve done?
If your life was bad to you
Just think what tomorrow will do
Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow
Don’t stop, it’ll soon be here
It’ll be better than before
Yesterday’s gone, yesterday’s gone
The song ends with the repeating of this phrase:
Don’t you look back
The video of the band playing the song live can be found here: Don’t Stop
The lyrics captures the sentiment of many of us who linger too long on the mistakes of the past. Focus today on creating a better future for you and your loved ones. If we can help you plan for this better future – which will definitely be here before too long – gives us a call.
