My family and I do not go camping (not a surprise to anyone who knows me). However, we have started to hike with our dog, Taxi, in the nearby Ramapo Mountains on weekends. On a recent hike, I was reminded of the story regarding human nature and hikers.
If you have ever hiked in dense forest alone and become lost, you are much more likely to begin to panic and make bad decisions. If, on the other hand, you are with someone (especially with a seasoned hiker) you are much less likely to panic. This lesson also applies to investors.

Listen to the stories of several individuals who regret making some of the following financial mistakes– not planning and saving enough for retirement, investing in only one stock, not participating in a company-matched 401(k) and failing to get help from an advisor. Sound familiar?
Share this powerful video with your friends, so they don’t make the same mistakes.
