Celebrate Your Financial Achievements

Everybody loves to celebrate a milestone, whether it is a big birthday, a wedding or a graduation.  The emotions of the day are joyous and the ability to relish the wonderful moment is shared by many.

This summer had a number of celebrations for our family.  A new beginning for our oldest daughter as she heads to the west coast for grad school, an exciting engagement for our middle daughter with wedding planning set to begin, a few family weddings and a wonderful birthday celebration for Mom (aka Grandma) with an intimate gathering of the Crimmins’ Clan.

These moments bring us together and allow us to take a break from our normal days and appreciate the successes of life.

It would be nice if you could take a moment and celebrate the success of achieving the many steps of financial planning.
The road to establishing a plan and sticking to it in order to ensure that you are prepared for the future should be celebrated.  When you set the goals for your retirement and follow through with them, you should take a moment to congratulate yourself.

This is often overlooked.  You continue on with the plan never giving much thought to the many sacrifices that you have made in order to save for your future, or the successes that you have achieved in your life through hard work and diligence to achieve this financial milestone.

Did you establish a saving plan for your child’s education with the end result of a college graduation?

Did you increase your saving plan for retirement this year, allowing the prospect of retiring early a possibility?

Did you finally get to the task of setting up your estate documents?

Did you increase your monthly savings plan at work?

Did you get a promotion or a raise at work?

Did you review your financial plan to ensure that you are on the right path?

All of these and many more deserve a moment of acknowledgment.  Appreciate your hard work and sacrifices.  Celebrate your accomplishments. Pat yourself on the back.

And keep on going!  Your future self will appreciate all of your hard work!
